Dear Students and Community Members:

At this time of year, I'd like to thank each of you for your continued patronage of Golden Oak.  This past year we have been pleased to continue to offer a variety of educational and training opportunities. Classes have included Community Education & Enrichment in such areas as Arts & Crafts, Business, Computers, Home & Garden, and Languages, to name a few.  Additionally, we continue to offer training toward High School Diploma or GED, English as a Second Language (ESL), Adults with Disabilities - Employment Prep, and Parent Education.  Augmentations and new additions have included, Vocational/Career Technical Education - Certificate Courses (such as Culinary, and Horticulture), ESL "Bridge" or Transition classes, more focus on testing for student growth, the addition of an Independent Study component to our Diploma classes which allows students easier and more efficient access to moving forward with their goals, and the opening of a "professional level" 18 piece performance jazz band ("G O Jazz") to help us give back to the community, in yet another way.  Looking to this Winter Quarter (January - March), several new options come to mind including expansion of our "big band" experience to a class for non-professionals, addition of Excel III, and Quilting.  We are always interested in your ideas and suggestions (check out the online survey on our website), and look forward to continuing to collaborate with you in the future.
