Parents / Guardians:
I feel obliged to let you know that we have had a small problem with some students sharing inhaler medications. Students may carry their inhalers, if both physician and parent have provided a signed self-administration form. The Hart Districts’ medication policy, as explained in the Rights, Regulations and Responsibilities pamphlet given to each parent, was established to protect students. It mentions the prohibition of sharing personal medications.
School administrators have learned of a few cases of inhalers being shared with other students. Please review our policy with your son/daughter so that we can be sure he/she knows that both parent and school officials expect that medications are to be taken only by the person for whom the medications was acquired. Thank you for your assistance in this important matter.
