RoadtripNation.org  is bringing their curriculum, The Roadtrip Nation Experience, to Bowman High School this February. The program kicks off with an amazing event that starts the second the big Green RV rolls onto the Bowman campus on Friday, February 5, 2010. The event will feature an introduction from the founders of Roadtrip Nation - Mike Marriner, Nathan Gebhard, and Brian McAllister - and a chance for Bowman students to meet and hear stories from Roadtrippers, Mariana Iglesias and Ray Ricafort, featured on the public television series, Roadtrip Nation.
Bowman High School is a California Model Continuation School serving 500 "at risk" teenagers. At Bowman, core values, built upon collaboration with students, staff, family, and the community, include:

Bowman High School is the first continuation school in the state chosen to pilot the Roadtrip Nation Experience, an innovative educational program. This exciting opportunity is in partnership with the College of the Canyons, in the form of a grant for video cameras, editing software, and staff development training, providing our "of promise" students the tools to explore career opportunities through an interactive curriculum. Lesson titles include: "Don't Fall Asleep at the Wheel," "Get Out and Explore," and "Work Versus Your Life Work."
The Roadtrip Nation Experience is a curriculum developed to help students identify their unique interests, make connections in their own communities, break out of their comfort zones, develop 21st century skill sets, and connect their education with all the possibilities of their future. With a combination of interactive online content, lesson videos, and an experiential workbook that promotes introspection and real world skills, students are guided through unprecedented exposure to pathways that are relevant to their individual hopes and dreams.
RoadtripNation.org is a non-profit organization that seeks to empower students with the themes of Roadtrip Nation and inspire them to define their own road in life.
