Job Shadowing Job shadowing gives you a chance to learn what someone does in a job that interests you. It involves observing one or more people on the job for two to three hours and asking them questions. You will be able to see first-hand the types of jobs that exist in the business world and the skills necessary for those jobs. There are local job shadow opportunities in the following industries: Banking, Biotech, Consulting, Dental, Engineering, Financial Services, Fitness, Healthcare, Hospitality, Insurance, Legal, Manufacturing, Medical, Radio Broadcasting, Real Estate, Recruiting, Retail, Small Business Development, and Web/Print Design.

Career and Technical Education
Career and technical education is an excellent alternative for those students not ready or interested in a 4 year degree. There are many programs that last only a few months to others that require you to complete your Associates Degree. Apprenticeships are another great way to transition to the world of work while you get paid!
