You can still order until July 26 for home delivery. Parents of this year's 8th graders...this is a great school pack to help your student start 9th grade! But you will have to choose home delivery, unless you or your child come to one of the registration days at SV (8th grade - Aug 7 and 7th grade - Aug 8). Thanks for supporting Sierra Vista's journalism program!

Help our SV library! The library needs your help to raise funds to purchase more library books. This will cost you no additional money.  When you're shopping at the Westfield Mall, all you have to do is show the concierge desk on the second floor your receipts and tell them you're supporting Sierra Vista.  They will stamp and return your receipts to you immediately.  If you forget, don't have time, or the concierge desk is closed, then you may bring the receipts to the library.  So please remember us when you do your holiday shopping!  Thanks for your support!

Recycling Program - At Sierra Vista, we are starting a campus wide recycling program. This is a district wide initiative that has us working with the Los Angeles Conservation Corps to help with recycling and getting something back for our school in the process. Blue recycling bins will be placed in strategic places on our campus. We want to encourage student use of these cans. With that in mind, please discuss with your student the importance of recycling and this program at Sierra Vista. Thank you for your support. Click here for more information.

HAVE BOX TOPS? - With budget cuts it is more important than ever to use every possible way to raise funds for the school. Box Tops are one of the easiest ways to accomplish this. HOW? When grocery shopping, look for products that carry the Box Top symbol. Look through your pantry and see if you have products that display Box Tops. Clip, write your student's first and last name as well as the team name on the back of the Box Top and place in an envelope or ziploc bag and send in with your student. Collection bins are in each of the team leaders' classrooms. There are monthly drawings and winners receive a gift certificate. At the end of the year, the team with the most Box Tops turned in will enjoy a pizza party. There is a collection box at the front desk in the school office. Collection bins will be available at all events where parent volunteers are present. HAPPY CLIPPING AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! The latest version of the Box Tops for Education newsletter is now available. Please view it here.

CELL PHONES – Get the cell phone contract here. Students are not allowed to use cell phones in any school buildings. Student phones can be taken away if they are seen and/or used inappropriately, as determined by the staff member. While in school buildings, phones must remain off (vibrating phones can often still cause a disruption) and should remain in backpacks/purses or pockets.  Phones may be used before school, brunch, lunch and after school as long as they are used out side of all  school buildings.  This includes the library and office unless special permission is given by a Sierra Vista Staff member.  Sierra Vista assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen phones, including when confiscated.  We appreciate your support of this policy.
