A wonderful historical encyclopedia created in Great Britain, and made freely available on the web by Spartacus Publishing. Also offers sections related to USA History, American Civil War, and Slavery.

The Author's Guild describes itself as "the nations largest society of published authors" and "a leading advocate for fair compensation, free speech, and copyright protection.

Writers Digest
Writer's Digest maintains a Web site that completes its print publishing program by offering market updates, a searchable database of submission guidelines, and more. A considerable amount of the content is free.
